i went down t here friday

i got lost in the mall trying to find them so i called 2 times but they never answered.

when i FINALLY was able to find their location, the dude told me he heard the phone ringing but decided not to answer it clue #1 i wasnt gonna like the joint!

then he told me to sit down and fill out a form, which i did but it only took me 2 minutes to complete it. the next 13-20 minutes i sat there while him and a co worker shot the breeze; clue #2 and it only gets worse!

finally another dude had me come over to his desk and he questioned me about what my goals were, etc. and told me i needed a portfolio even though my headshots were perfect. and of COURSE the portfolio pictures just to have them taken would be from $200 and up which i didnt get the impression that price included the prints being done.

so i didnt sign anything nor did i pay for anything because i THOUGHT it was normal industry practice not to charge models to sign up because basically thats what he was alluding to!

I AM SOOO GLAD I GOOGLE!!! lol Seriously though; they TRIED this on me....but boy were they SHOCKED when I said "I know Derek Blanks; he's a friend of mine." Then, when they showed me Drexina's website, STUNNED were they when I said-"Know of her; my couwsin has done hair for her." And the coup de grâce was when they tried to set me up with their "in-house photographer" & he walks in...I said, "We've met before!"

Needless to say-they were persistently asking me to set up a photoshoot with one of the three aforementioned photogs (whom I already KNOW) AND get me to pay a $25 "administration fee". *smh* On to the next one....

You are correct on one thing, they did just have a grand opening. But when I started back modeling a few years ago they asked me to come down as well. Like the others that have made comments on, they wanted me to do a shoot with Derek at a very expensive rate. I didn't return either. When I did do the shoot with him it was through a different contact person. I have sent a couple of model down there to some of the events that they have posted, but not to their casting because I don't trust them.
