Description: “Shahrzad” is a sad and candid look at the reality faced by many women after the collapse of Soviet Union. It is a love story and deals with a clash of cultures and civilizations. It deals with the tragedy of loss of identity. In “Shahrzad”, we meet a hopeful and naive, Russian flight attendant, Nadia; a charming but sinister wealthy Dubai local, Tariq; an oppressed wife Leila; and the homesick and tragic, Russian prostitute Maria.
