Rep Power: 0 | Model Talent Network is comprised of low life scum who are afraid to rob a bank so instead, use trickery to steal money from people. I went as well. i saw the post they posted on craigslist so emailed them. then they called me to come in. they said i don't need anything except a license to come for the interview. i get there, they make me fill out a small form and then ask if i brought pictures. since i didn't, they wanted me to pay a nice amount of money to have them taken. i am surprised the police have not raided them and jailed them for fraud. a person who left after me told me they tried the same on her but they wanted 3 times as much money for the pictures. it must be that they see if you look like you have a lot of money, they charge more. I wonder how much sadly fall for this. They play music videos on a tv in the "waiting room" and think thats all people have to see and they will beleive its a legit company. The lady ("interviewer"), i am not sure if her name was tee or what it was but she looked like she showered in sh*t. I am pissed that they dont care that you waste your time coming in to them just for them to tell u u need to pay an enormous fee for pictures. If they actually had clients who needed models and they can make good money off of you, would you have to pay money for pics. I wonder why they havent been closed down yet? |

Rep Power: 0 | I went to this company, which uses false advertizing to make people think they are a talent/management company. After waithig FOREVER in a ghetto hole in the wall which was supposedly their office/waiting room, I told them I had to be somewhere for an appoinment (at a place where they keep their appointments). The paperwork I filled out asked what kind of modeling I wanted to do, I later realized that they did because they would try to tell you that yoiu need differents shots for themall. As I walke dinto the ack 'office' I saw a makeshift studio and plenty of gilrls who were being scammed. I brought my portfolio with me (which is proffesional and anyone can clearly see that more photographs are not neccessry rigt now). As soon as she saw i I got a nastly attitude from her and soon found out why. She rushed me into a room without even introducing herdelf and looked at my sheet while telling me all the pictures that would nee to be tajen without even glancing at my portfolio and began to talk about how much the ffferent pics would cost and telling me to wait because one of the photographers was busy and he would do me next. She said something around $800 and I almost laghed and said-----are you kidding me? . At this point I said --my pictures are more than adequate, as I've been told by many people I knew in the biz. She said if you don't want to do this that's fine Goodbye-she basically walked to the door and held it open waiting me to get out of the room, probably so I wouldn't tell the girls that this was bogus.I said to her and the receptionist your not even an agency are you your just f*^%ing photogrphers? She mumbled some bullshit and closed the door in my face. they have kept calling me since then. Finlly I told the girl, listen I already made an appointment and wasted my day once, that rhey are going to get nailed for their scam and to stop calling me- just rip up my damn paper. Granted, it took a bit longer for them to call again but they did a few days ago (all models are'nt stupid and even the dumb one's wouldn't forget how pissed they were). Stay Away from this place. You will end up staring at the wall for 2 hours, getting sweet talked by they while try to keep up the facade of being an ahency without blatently saying it (which would get them caught faster), and trowing away plenty of money. I have been the victim of some scam artists before, there are plenty out there, and when you get burned your self esteem suffers, you can feel emotionally guilty and blame yourself. Worst of all you can become discourged lose hope and give up your dreams because you lose faith in yurself. There will always be predators out there, just do your research and trust your intincts to protect yourself fom becoming a victim. -Janel |

Rep Power: 0 | I had an interview tomorrow! Thank you for your stories so I could avoid having one of my own to tell! By the way, the email they sent in response is false, their posting on craigslist specifically STATES that they are casting a worldwide campaign. |

Rep Power: 0 | I had the privelege of being called in for an appointment with a person named Brad. But making a long story short, I didn't end up meeting this man because when I entered the location in NYC on 35th street and sat down to fill out the information sheet a guy walked in and we started talking about the company. The guy who walked in had been there the previous day and said he was charged a few hundred dollars for them to take a few headshots of him with a cheap camera. As I sat there and listened to this guys story, I told him he should never pay for anything and if he wanted to get professional photos done then he should research photographers and not go through a place like this. Long story short, I ended up leaving before he came out of the office from speaking with Brad so I don't know if he got his money back, hopefully he did. However, I will draw your attention to the fine print on the information sheet that they ask you to provide a signature at the end of the document. One of the sentances state "We do not get modeling and acting jobs"... "Model Talent Network Development Corp" ..."does not hire models" So when I read this and underlined this and spoke to the guy who had just been scammed, I said to myself, if I have headshots already and a comp card, what the hell do I need these people for if they are not going to find me a job? And the answer to my question was basically to leave the location! So be warned, this is a scam!! Don't pay for anything upfront!! Btw, I went to this place in Manhattan on Nov. 29th 2006 |
