Rep Power: 0 | This company is a BIG SCAM.... They post all theses ads on craigslist about real people needed for photo shoot for major company, $350-$750 a day and might be needed for 3-5 days... They call you in and tell you they like you and want you to go out and talk to some agents but they want you to take pictures and they will do them there. The main SCAM ARTIST is the lady that works there name TEE, she'll have you thinking that you are the next tyra banks!! and then you take pictures and pay around $300.00 for them and they come out looking like SH*T because they don't know what they are doing..... PLEASE don't get pulled in to this company that is taking advantage of people who are trying to get started in this business.(I've been involved in alot of scammy companies and lost alot of money) WORD OF ADVISE:If they want you, they will pay for you!!! you should never have to pay for anything......[/b] |

Rep Power: 10 | I haven't heard much from Model Talent Network lately. Maybe they've changed thier tune. I do wonder if any MyModelTalk.com members are still having dealings with them. Quote:

No agency will pay for a model's pictures. Just doesn't happen [(often). This is why so many scam agencies still exist. It's very normal and typical for a photo shoot to cost $300 or more. The quality of the product is what makes the issue. Not being charged for the product. Models are independent contractors and therfore responsible for their own promotional materials. Agencies work for models...primarily finding work and a little guidance now and then. Check out these articles from NewModels.com for more detailed info. Rep Power: 0 | Right on. Models must pay the costs (generally) for photos - they may test at low or very reduced rates - but they still bear the responsibility of any costs for photos and comp cards. Actors must pay for headshot shoots and printing. Actors must pay for training and classes. Most agencies now charge to be on their website (much like they used to charge to be in their hardcopy book). The talent foots the bill. What makes something non legit is when you are REQUIRED to use THEIR services... or if you find out that someone they recommend you to is doing kick backs. Now it is easy to say you can go out and find your own photographer and get images, but you need to be sure that those images meet the needs and requirements of that agency. Often they do not. Our agency actually pays all these costs for our talent, but I can tell you we are probably one in 10,000. This just normally is not done. |
