So.... I thought I would teach at John Casablanca's. You know that little tingle you get in you stomach when you know something isn't right. I should have listened
It all started with me answering a local ad on Craigslist.
I realized after a mil second after pushing send exactly who it when too. SO.... I ignored their emails until finally one of the girls at the desk called me and I put them on the spot. I said "I really don't want you to represent me however i would like to teach. "
I was brought into an interview where I filled out a rather lengthy application and sat there. The director was an hour late for our interview. In a rush she told me the girls thought I was rude. ( I sat there smiling the whole time ) I guess the girl who had that postal look on her face and told me point blank "not to f**k with her

, she needs her coffee), after saying "Good Morning" I guess that was me being really rude??? Red flag...
I was brought in to shadow Larry for two days.
During the hour long discussion about what a slate was ( yes they actually have a hour class on what a slate is) my phone vibrated.
It was a call about a 600k house . I am a full time realtor too. 3% commission always outweighs 7 bucks and hour
I excused myself took my call in the hall and was about to hang up when the director came around the corner with a wild bitch look on her face and said " What the F**k was I doing"
Understand that the teachers had been taking smoke breaks about every 15 mins. I don't smoke so excusing myself to take this call was a must. Luckily the call was ending right when she did that.... Red flag part two.
During the class the lead instructor Larry who has been there for five years was instructing.
Larry who

has no clue what the hell he's talking about and both he and the the students could read the look on my face. The students listen to him and then cocked their heads looking at me. After the first "what do you think got every ones attention and they stopped listening to him and wanted the answers i knew.
Being in the NYC and LA markets... I have a wealth of information none of which Larry the instructor knew . I'm guessing the only thing he's done is read the book they teach. Because his world experience was painfully lacking and obvious. Most of the students who were on week 17 told me I was a breath of fresh air and that Larry spoke in circles and never directly answered anything.
Week 17 is one week away from graduating this program.... sadly none of the students could even get though a monologue. Most were painfully shy. I blame the school not the kids.
One shinning ray of hope was Andrew... Andrew covered for me as Chad at the local dinner theater when I went to Florida... Andrew knew what he was talking about.
I was told via a TEXT two days after my 11 hour Saturday in a message that stated the Director had a bad feeling in her stomach and wouldn't be hiring me. Must have been bad gas because the sour look on Julia's face made me think of the days I use to watch the brain dead parents bring their 3 and 4 year old children to Walmart at 3 am. All had that pissed off zombie look
That's ok.... to be perfectly honest i wasn't going back. My gut instinct was to run and run away fast . Casablanca's while may have some merit in teaching kids how to enter show business but they truly lack any sincerity. If you have the money they will l pass even the worst of students. Their requirements are if you can walk and breathe.... you pass
It was this centers lost.... my wife told me my reputation was worth more then getting hooked up with the likes of them.
I knew even before I took the look see job that the school was complete BS, but i always give the benefit of doubt.
For all you parents thinking of signing your kids ... a great season of summer theater will do more then 3 months at JC's and is considerability cheaper.
SCAM ALERT....

I realize that some of you here are teachers there... I'm not saying you don't care doesn't change the fact the school is pure HS
